About me…

Keep Active, Keep Dancing, Keep Fit just about sums me up!

As a young girl, I visited my local ice rink on a school trip, deciding right then that I wanted to be a figure skater and persuaded my parents that ice skating before school each day was only way to achieve this. After years of competitive skating, I announced to my family that I was packing my suitcase to go on tour for a year as a Chorus Skater with ‘Holiday on Ice’.

Twelve years later, after skating around the world in sequins and feathers, I hung up my ice skates, finally unpacked my case and retired from being a professional ice skater.

Never one to sit still for very long, I’ve always loved going to the gym, running and attended dance classes (along with any opportunity to do a bit of kitchen dancing of course) when it became obvious to me that I could be involved with exercise and my love of moving to music well into my later years and I hope my enthusiasm will encourage others to do the same…

My fitness career took off in my early 50’s when I qualified as a Level 2 Exercise to Music Instructor, followed by becoming a FitSteps and DDMIX Instructor and my keen interest in helping Older Adults to become and stay active, I gained further Instructor qualifications in Strength & Balance, OTAGO and the brand ‘Move it or Lose it’

A few years ago, we moved to Cambridgeshire and I’m proud of the classes I built up in Village Halls and Community Centres which were regularly attended by loyal and committed keep-fitters. When the Pandemic hit, like many Instructors, I had to stop teaching classes immediately, however finding our new home and settling in Holmfirth became a family priority. So now is the time to start again and get back to what I’ve missed so much over this past year…I hope you will join me at a ZEST! or Chair Based Exercise class at one of the local venues around Holmfirth and together we can keep active, keep dancing and keep fit.

I am assessed on a regular basis and like to attend refresher training and CPD training courses to further enhance my qualifications.

I do hope you are interested enough to join our new classes? Perhaps read what they have to say on my Testimonials page and if you like what you see, come and give it a try – you have nothing to lose and so much to gain!

Keep active, keep dancing, keep fit…
